Brookyln Teacher Creates the ABC’s of Famous African American Musicians

Trying to find inventive ways to keep your students enticed can be difficult, but this NY teacher created the ultimate activity for his students to learn some of music’s most iconic African American artists.

Long time friend of TeachRock, Mr. Will Mosley, from PS 149 Danny Kaye in Brooklyn, NY created the ABC’s of famous African American musicians. From A to Z, he covers artists such as Alicia Keys and Aretha Franklin to Jay-Z and Ziggy Marley.

Mr. Mosley highlights a large array of singers, songwriters, and composers from multiple different genres including Jazz, Rap, R&B, and Rock and Roll.

With the COVID-19 pandemic putting a pause on in-person schooling, Mr. Mosley was able to create and record a video of himself reciting the ABC’s of famous African American musicians.

Please check out the clip and share with friends and family, fellow teachers, students, and anyone else who will listen! Also be sure to check out Mr. Mosley’s YouTube channel, “Music with Mr. Mosley” HERE!
