From the Country Hall of Fame to the Classroom with Marty Stuart
Country Music Hall of Famer Marty Stuart is a renowned American country and bluegrass singer, songwriter, and musician. Stuart is also an unofficial caretaker of the culture, spending much of his career rescuing and collecting country music artifacts from throughout the genre’s history.
On December 2 at the National Council for the Social Studies Annual Conference in Nashville, Stuart joined Chicago principal Melissa Sweazy and TeachRock executive director Bill Carbone for a conversation about the meaning of history to the present, and how we can use music to engage and inspire kids who might otherwise decide school is not for them.
And he performed two songs as well!

Marty Stuart weaves a spellbinding tale, and TeachRock is honored to have him as an Artist Council member. Thank you Marty!
