Harmony Student Wellness℠ is Transformative
The Harmony Student Wellness program uses music to transform a school from dozens of individual classrooms into a single interconnected community.
For the first twenty minutes of each day, the entire school works on the same Harmony Student Wellness lesson.
Homeroom becomes a safe and restorative space where students listen to music, participate in guided conversation circles, and express themselves through art projects.
We provide the melody, and the entire school works together to establish harmony. And from that place of connectedness, students begin to thrive.
Harmony Student Wellness is Aligned to the CASEL Five
Harmony Student Wellness is rooted in the research-backed framework for social and emotional learning developed by the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL). The curriculum is divided into five modules which are aligned with CASEL's five key competencies:
Through Harmony Student Wellness, students build knowledge, skills, and attitudes in each of these areas and improve their ability to regulate emotions, cultivate empathy, and build healthy relationships.
Scope, Sequence, and Preparation are Done For You
Each module of Harmony Student Wellness is divided into eight thematic lessons, with five days of content each. Each week, students dive deep into a specific topic, guided by our framework for exploration and reflection.
Each Harmony lesson invites students to explore a topic through thoughtfully planned daily routines and a culminating arts-based activity. This approach allows for meaningful engagement and personal growth as students thoroughly explore each theme.
Harmony Student Wellness Lesson Framework
Circles: Drawing inspiration from ancient traditions, each day begins with a Circle that creates an inclusive space where every student has the opportunity to share equally, fostering a culture of respect and understanding. Every voice. Every day.
Music: Music is at the heart of every Harmony Student Wellness lesson, immersing students in a rich emotional experience. Each lesson features songs that relate to the topic students are engaging with, from a diverse selection of artists spanning different eras and genres. Students listen intentionally to deepen their reflections and expand their thinking.
Partner Talk: Beyond group discussions, students engage in daily one-on-one partner talks to reflect on the music they've heard. This practice nurtures face-to-face communication—a critical skill often underdeveloped in our increasingly digital world—while fostering meaningful interpersonal connections.
Art Journals: Art Journals offer students a creative and judgment-free space to reflect personally and think more deeply about the day's topic. This flexible medium encourages self-expression, free from the limitations of rigid structures or expectations, allowing students to process and explore their thoughts with authenticity.
Shared Reflection: Each Harmony Student Wellness lesson ends with a shared reflection in which students are encouraged to listen, share, and build upon one another's thoughts. This practice fosters empathy, understanding, and a sense of community, as students get to know their peers’ perspectives and connect more deeply with each other.
Arts-Based Activities: Each week of Harmony Student Wellness concludes with an arts-based activity designed to help students reflect on the week's theme. These activities—ranging from visual art and poetry to songwriting and drama—provide a creative space for personal exploration and growth, helping students deepen their understanding of themselves and their peers. These activities also serve as an accessible way to assess student progress for all ability levels.
