Cafe Conversation Activity

The instructions read: Café Conversation Activity You have been cordially invited to a party held in Manhattan, New York. At this party, you will be among the “Who's Who” of 1920s society: captains of industry, top entertainers and athletes, and powerful political figures will all be attending. Enjoy mingling with your fellow invitees, and learning how this collection of people helped shape the era. Step 1: Choose or get assigned a figure to role play at the party. Read about that person from Document Set - Invitee Profiles and take notes on Handout - Invitee List. Step 2: Peruse the classroom and strike up conversations with the other people at the party. Take notes about what you learned about the figures you met on Handout - Invitee List. Pay attention to the various newspaper headlines placed around the room, and strike up conversations about them with someone at the party. Imagine how the figure you are playing might react to the news.
