Rock and Roll Forever Foundation Hosts Summer Teacher Workshop in Manhattan
On July 29 & 30, the Rock and Roll Forever Foundation hosted a summer teacher workshop, designed for educators who are using Rock and Roll: An American Story in their classroom. A select group of twelve teachers from multiple disciplines joined the RRFF team for valuable conversations, film screenings, and guest presentations, including an inspiring participatory discussion with CEO and Founder of Little Kids Rock, David Wish, a partner organization that is revolutionizing modern band instruction in schools.
We were thrilled to host educators from near and far (including one participant who joined us from Rome, Italy). Teachers offered valuable feedback on how they effectively incorporate Rock and Roll: An American Story curriculum into their specific classes. In the coming months, look for new lesson plans based on suggestions from our participating teachers, a direct result of this enriching workshop and the discussions that transpired.
Details about next year’s workshop will be made available on our site in April 2016.
