In April, TeachRock attended the 2023 NAMM Show and participated in the NAMM Foundation’s Million More Music Makers initiative and the Nonprofit Management Institute. Held in Anaheim, California, the NAMM Show is a hive of innovation for all things music – including music education. It was an inspiring and enlightening experience to participate in numerous education sessions, hands-on workshops, and networking events with K-12+ educators from all around the country and the world!
This was the inaugural year for the Million More Music Makers initiative and we were thrilled to join a program that seeks “to engage and empower more creativity, empathy, and social-emotional wellness… by creating a direct connection between educators and the innovative music products industry.” We happily connected with old friends and established new connections as we took part in awesome events, including Music Education Days, GenNext college music program, and Community Music Making.
Oh, and while we were on the floor checking out all the incredible new music gear (and doing damage to our hearing), we also happened to see quite a few music legends demonstrating new products and drawing crowds, including the one-and-only Bernard Purdie. Now that’s a successful NAMM Show!
TeachRock resources will greatly benefit from what we discovered and explored at this year’s NAMM Show. We can’t wait for #NAMMShow 2024.
